About the Job
The Oswego County Energy Recovery Facility has an immediate opening for an Assistant Loader Operator to assist in the efficient operation of the plant by inspecting the waste stream to identify and remove incompatible materials, directing waste haulers where to dump the waste brought in, and assuming the duties of Loader Operator as required.  In addition, the Assistant Loader Operator will perform various maintenance activities, which may be physically demanding, and will operate equipment such as snowplows, front-end loaders, and dump trucks.

QualificAations: Completion of coursework from a recognized trade school or BOCES program or possession of an associate’s degree in Auto Technology, Heavy Equipment, Mechanical Engineering or related field; OR One (1) year of experience in the operation or minor servicing of motor equipment. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Eligibility for a New York State driver's license at time of appointment.  Possession of a Class B New York State driver’s license within six (6) months of appointment.  Once obtained, maintenance of license required throughout the course of employment.  Ability to use a respirator must be maintained throughout the course of employment.

Pay Rate: $27.45 per hour plus competitive benefit package including: health, life, dental and vision insurance; NYS Retirement; and Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
