The Oswego County Energy Recovery Facility has an immediate need for a Maintenance Mechanic "B" to perform mechanical work on a shift involving a variety of mechanical, hydraulic and electro-mechanical installation, repair and maintenance tasks on energy recovery plant and related equipment. The incumbent works under direction and supervision of the Chief Maintenance Mechanic or Shift Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in engineering technology or a closely related field; OR
- High school or possession of an equivalency diploma and one (1) year of experience in repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, steam equipment; OR
- Possession of Certificate of completion from a Union-Company Sponsored Apprentice Program requiring at least 8,000 hours of on-the-job training.
NOTE:
Completion of an equipment maintenance course may be substituted for up to a year of depending on length and type of training.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
- Eligibility for a New York State driver's license may be required. If required, maintenance of license required throughout the course of employment. Ability to use a respirator must be maintained throughout the course of employment.
Pay Rate:
$30.10 per hour plus competitive benefit package including health, life, dental and vision insurance, and NYS Retirement.
